About the Department

The Xavier Institute of Engineering established the Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (EXTC) Department in 2005. This well-regarded department offers a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) program in EXTC, with an annual intake of 30 students. The program is approved by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), the Government of Maharashtra, and is affiliated with the University of Mumbai.

The department emphasizes on holistic learning by providing quality education, training and empowering students to make significant contributions in the field of Research & Innovations under the guidance of trained and experienced faculty members & well equipped laboratories

The department is having the state-of-the-art infrastructure, which includes ventilated class rooms, laboratories and staff rooms. Under the guidance of the management and principal, the department is flourishing by leaps and bounds.

Program Outcomes

A graduate of Electronics and Telecommunication engineering will have the ability

  • Engineering knowledge: To apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering for the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis: To identify, formulate, research literature and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
  • Design/ development of solutions: To design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components and processes in the field of Electronics & Telecommunication to meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and cultural, societal and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems: To analyse and interpret data and do syntheses of information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern tool usage: To create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling in the field of Electronics & Telecommunication with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: To apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice.
  • Environment and sustainability: To understand the impact of professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate knowledge of and need for sustainable development.
  • Ethics: To apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of engineering practice.

At the end of the program, a student will be able

  • To apply fundamentals of Electronics, Embedded System, Signal Processing, Communication Networks, AI and Data Analytics in the field of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.
  • To demonstrate the ability to develop solutions in the field of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and multidisciplinary domains.
